Kiara Paulino and Nahal Jangda Scoop Up Two Medals Each at NYS Competition

Goshen High School Science Olympiad came in 37th out of 60 teams at NY Science Olympiad States at LaMoyne College on March 18-19 (up from 59th last year)!

This is the first time since 2012 that the team Division C team has had an opportunity to compete at the NYS Tournament. Medals were earned in three events, with veteran team members Kiara Paulino and Nahal Jangda, earning two medals each. New members, Kimberlee Cubillo and Katherine Nguyen, each earned a NYS medal in their events. The team medaled in the following events:

• Kiara Paulino and Nahal Jangda for 9th place in Forensics

• Kiara Paulino and Kimberlee Cubillo took 9th place in Ping Pong Parachute

• Nahal and Katherine Nguyen won 6th in Wright Stuff

• Arun Foster and Chris Whitney placed 11th in the Bridge event
