Div B Team Takes First Place at Regionals

The Division B Junior Science Olympiad team of CJ Hooker Middle School 6-8 graders and Goshen High School freshman competed at regionals on March 19.

The team won first place overall and earned a spot at the New York State Science Olympiad tournament at East Syracuse-Minoa High School on April 8 & 9.


Team members medaled in either first or second place with one 3rd place for all 18 events. Team roster/medals:


Kiran Foster- 1st in Bridges, Crave the Wave and Bio Process Mia Garcia- 1st for Crave the Wave, Mousetrap Vehicle, Storm the Castle

Chloe Mosquera- 1st- Crime Busters, Green Generation, 2nd for Ornithology, Write It Do It and Ping Pong Parachute

Abhi Bagam- 1st place Anatomy and Storm the Castle

Tanner Conklin- 1st place Crime Busters, Meteorology, Mission Possible and Road Scholar

Gemma Maxwell- 1st place Bio Process, and Mousetrap Vehicle

Andrew Santilli- 1st- Green Generation, Disease Detectives

Tony Paulino- 2nd in Food Science, Ornithology and Ping Pong Parachute

Rhyley Ruffy- 1st in Anatomy, Dynamic Planet, and 2nd in Meteorology and Food Science

Aaban Imran- 1st in Road Scholar.

Alexa Krabbe- 2nd in Write It Do It and Rocks and Minerals

Aiden Meyers- 2nd in Crave the Wave, Road Scholar and Solar System. And 1st for Ornithology and Ping Pong Parachute

Isabella Scanlon- 1st for Ornithology. 3rd for Anatomy.
