Goshen's Science Olympiad Season Ends as a Result of NYS Shutdown Over Pandemic Fears; Rules Replay

Goshen Science Olympiad’s Junior and Senior Teams will not be able to compete for the remainder of the season. As the illness Covid-19 spreads, New York State bans large gatherings including the Science Olympiad Junior Team Regionals and both Division's State competition.

The Science Olympiad National Organization has committed to a "Rules Replay" which will allow the same events to run in the 2021 season that were in place when the competitions were cancelled. Although the rules will alter the topics covered and the specs for building events, it will allow teams to save money through reusing relevant materials.

Although this is a disappointing end to the season, the team will be back in force next year with the support of local businesses and the community at large. The program has received generous support from local businesses including: Lowes, Orange & Rockland, Lanc & Tully, Nugent & Haeussler, Crystal Run Healthcare, M&T Bank and Media Vision Advertising. Find out more about the team, the events in which they participate and how you can lend your support by visiting the Sponsors page at https://goshenscioly.wixsite.com/scioly/corporate-sponsors.
