Goshen Teams Compete at the LISO Invitational

The Goshen Science Olympiad teams participated in the first competition of the season held on Long Island on December 8th. More than 90 teams with students from grades 6th through 12th gathered at Kellenberg Memorial High School for the Science Olympiad competition, bringing together competitors from Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey.

Goshen's Division B Team finished as the 7th school overall and earned six medals including a first place finish in the Battery Buggy event. Additional medals earned included third place medals in Boomilever and Herpetology, fifth place medals in Experimental Design and Thermodynamics, and a sixth place medal in Fossils.

The Division C Team placed in the top 25 out of 57 teams in many of their events including ninth place in the Geologic Mapping event, sixteenth place for in Experimental Design, a seventeenth place in Dynamic Planet, eighteenth place in Wright Stuff and twenty third place in the Sounds of Music event. The Division B Team will head to the Rustin Invitational in West Chester, PA on January 5th followed and the Division C Team will compete at the Mid-Hudson Division C Regional competition on February 9th.
